Your breath and how it supports you to feel rested

Today’s drop-in we are Joined by Postpartum Doula and Functional Breath Facilitator Ashley Wilson.

Motherhood is an incredibly demanding stage of life, especially the early months and years, but also the later years. Many Mothers find themselves lost in the giving, exhausted and unsure of a way back to themselves.

Your breath is with you always, and it is a unique body function, one that is both automatic and that can be controlled to change your internal state.

In this session Ashley will you through functional breathing for better energy, down regulating breath practices that you can integrate into daily life to bring faster access to calm as well as upregulating practices that will inject energy and focus. Together, these practices when practiced consistently, will allow your window of tolerance to widen, allowing you more space as you traverse the roller coaster that is life.

This session is intended to be gentle and supportive, Ashley’s wish is that women leave feeling like they have a really accessible practice that will support their Mothering journey.

 

About Ashley

Hi, I’m Ashley. Mama of two, passionately supporting Mothers in their transition to motherhood, or motherhood again.

As a postpartum Doula, my care is Mother centred. That means meeting the needs of Mum, emotionally, mentally & practically. My philosophy is simple, when Mums are well, families can be well and when families are well, society can be well too. It is the ripple effect in action.

Through my years as a postpartum doula, I have identified a common thread amongst the families I work with, the state of the family nervous system and the impact that has on how the family is thriving.

What I have come to learn is that Mum’s nervous system is the root of the family nervous system, and so I come back to how I can support Mum to thrive. This has lead me to study Breath retraining with Brooke Elliston, where I have been able to refine practices that will support Mothers on a daily basis, to bring space to her body and mind, open up the window of tolerance and be able to cope with the ups and downs of life.


Thursdays at The Gathering Space is a relaxed weekly drop-in for pregnant women and new mothers.

Come for tea, questions, connection, and practical support. Hosted by Jennifer Hazi and Anna Maria, with local wise women joining us throughout the year.

There is no cost to attend.
No RSVP required.
You are welcome to stay for a little or a lot.

We simply like to know how much tea to make.
