The Myth that postpartum binding and wrapping is straight forward

With Jacqueline Gorman

Jackie will be joining us to lead discussion in postpartum care experiences and ask any questions related to her clinical work. We will cover the physiological healing from binding and wrapping, the myth that it's straight forward and the importance of checking practitioner qualifications and why.

About Jackie

Jackie Gorman is the Founder of Nurture by Touch® and the Nurture by Touch Method of Training & Certification. She is a Certified Jamu Innate Postpartum Care Practitioner (Singapore & Indonesia), A Certified Innate Postpartum Care Practitioner (USA with Rachelle Garcia Seliga), Matriatrics the Neuroscience behind Motherhood (Dr Oscar Serrallach), a VETAB Cert IV Accredited Trainer, and a Training Provider endorsed and accredited by IICT. Prior to this she led a corporate life overseas and in Australia and has a Masters of Marketing & Management Degree. Her son was born in Singapore, where they lived for almost 6 years, and her exposure to 40 days of rest changed her life forever, this planted the seed that later became Nurture by Touch.

Jackie is with a postpartum mother for up to 30-40 days in the sanctuary of a mothers home. She honours an innate tradition called Jamu Postpartum care and has been on the road for 8 years now. She has brought this ancient postpartum lineage into the homes of mothers. Her work is at the intersection of ancient wisdom and now, evidence based modern science thanks to so much more research from Drs and Anthropologists. She 'grew up' with 6 cross cultural foundations to postpartum care - Rest / Warmth / Bodywork of Care / Postpartum Nutrition / Community Tribe Village / Matrescence., but her vital work crosses into 4 of them - rest, warmth, bodywork of care and matrescence. After her care is completed she makes sure that a mother has a community / village to engage and she discusses the importance of a pelvic floor health plan to be put in place with women centred physio's after her care is complete.
